Shohin Airlines Places First Airbus Order for Four A320neo Family Aircraft
Shohin Airlines has placed its first-ever order with Airbus, signing for four A320neo Family aircraft to support the launch of its operations from Tajikistan. The deal includes two A320neo and two A321neo jets, which will form the backbone of the carrier’s modern fleet as it expands into regional and international markets. Registered in June 2025, the Dushanbe-based private airline aims to strengthen Tajikistan’s global air connectivity while delivering high standards of safety, efficiency and passenger comfort. SMBC Aviation Capital Orders 100 Additional Airbus A320neo Family Aircraft
SMBC Aviation Capital has placed a firm order for 100 additional Airbus A320neo Family aircraft, comprising 65 A321neos and 35 A320neos, at the Farnborough International Airshow. The deal strengthens the lessor’s long-standing partnership with Airbus and supports a steady delivery pipeline of fuel-efficient aircraft into the mid-2030s. SMBC Aviation Capital said the investment reflects confidence in long-term demand for the A320neo Family and its commitment to meeting evolving airline fleet requirements. Airbus welcomed the order, highlighting the A320neo Family’s market-leading position, improved fuel efficiency and strong appeal among airlines, lessors and investors worldwide.
Philippine Airlines Plans to Double Airbus A350-1000 Fleet with Nine More Aircraft
Philippine Airlines (PAL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Airbus for nine additional A350-1000 widebody aircraft, a move that will double its planned fleet of the type to 18 aircraft once finalized. Announced at the Farnborough Air Show, the agreement reinforces PAL’s long-haul growth strategy, particularly on North American routes from Manila. The A350-1000, the airline’s flagship aircraft, offers enhanced fuel efficiency, extended range and a premium passenger experience. PAL says the aircraft will support future network expansion while strengthening its position as the only Southeast Asian carrier currently operating the Airbus A350-1000.
