The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has appointed Saadia Zahidi as its next Director General, effective 1 November 2026, making her the organization’s first female leader and ninth Director General. Zahidi joins from the World Economic Forum, where she serves as Managing Director and Member of the Managing Board. She succeeds Willie Walsh, whose tenure ends on 31 July 2026, with Sandrine Le Borgne serving as Interim Director General in the meantime. Zahidi said she is honored to lead IATA at a pivotal time and looks forward to advancing innovation, resilience, sustainability, and global collaboration across the aviation industry.
WorldHotels is accelerating its global expansion with more than 40 hotels in development, following the addition of approximately 100 properties in 2025. The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board & Film Commission, in partnership with Wally Castro Marine, is bringing festive cheer to the Caribbean with Xmas in July 2026, culminating in the main celebration on July 25 at Pond Bay Beach, Virgin Gorda. Running from July 23–27, the event features themed celebrations, live music, holiday-inspired food and drinks, special offers and family-friendly activities across multiple islands.
