Hakin United beat Radnor Valley in the FAW Amateur Trophy

HAKIN United’s journey into the FAW Amateur Trophy came to an end on Saturday 5 September when they were beaten 3-2 by Radnor Valley.

Radnor lost their last game in the Ardal North East League but were successful in their previous game in the FAW Welsh Cup qualifier.

Hakin lost to Goodwick in the last game, but was eager to get back to winning ways.

The first half of Saturday’s game ended goalless as both sides battled for the opening goal.

The first goal of the game did not come until the 72nd minute when Jack Gittoes assisted Joey Price to score.

They didn’t last long though as Cam Brunton provided the assist for Scott Fernie to score just seven minutes later.

The game then came alive in stoppage time when Jack Gittoes scored the goal that appeared to give Radnor the win.

Hakin wasn’t done yet, however, and Liam Parkes scored five minutes later to make extra time look likely.

However, within a minute Radnor received a penalty.

Price held on and scored his second goal of the game from the penalty spot.

Hakin had no time to respond, and their cup journey came to an end moments later.

Hakin will return to league action on Saturday 12 September when they visit Carew.
