The Scotland international returned to Manchester for surgery on Tuesday morning. The surgery involved a minor ablation procedure that corrects the irregular heart rhythm. The problem was discovered after the 29-year-old was sent off just an hour after Napoli’s 2-1 defeat to Como on August 30. Last week the club confirmed: “Following the development of a mild benign arrhythmia, Scott McTominay will undergo corrective surgery using cardiac arrhythmia ablation in the coming days.” Following the operation, Napoli said: “Scott McTominay underwent an ablation procedure at Spire Hospital in Manchester on Tuesday morning. He will also miss Serie A meetings with Bologna and Fiorentina, but expects to return to the Napoli squad for the visit of Frosinone on October 10. Napoli then face Villarreal, Bodo/Glimt, Porto, Manchester City and Club Brugge in the Champions League.
