EasyJet Holidays has launched its first sustainability-themed trip to Lanzarote to demonstrate how sustainable holidays can go mainstream. Barrhead Travel trade and retail staff joined the August 27-30, 2026 trip, which was organized in conjunction with the Hyatt Inclusive Collection. The group stayed at the Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa and visited the Grand Hyatt Lanzarote Playa Dorada, both part of easyJet Holidays’ collection of certified sustainable hotels. Participants learned about easyJet Holidays Holiday Better initiative, aimed at make sustainable travel more accessible, minimize the impact of package tourism and embed sustainability into business. The itinerary included an interactive activity to give agents insight into Lanzarote’s culture, community initiatives and local businesses. Participants also took part in a roundtable discussion exploring customer attitudes to sustainability and sharing ideas on how to make easyJet bookings more sustainable. Visitor Mille Cathcart said: “The trip gave me a much better understanding of sustainability in the tourism industry. Once I returned to work, I was able to share what I learned with my colleagues and use this knowledge when communicating with clients. This has helped me feel more confident discussing sustainable travel options and explaining how choosing more responsible holidays can have a positive impact on local communities and the environment.” Fellow participant Maya Birrell added: “The sustainability awareness trip is a great way to combine product knowledge with a better understanding of responsible tourism, and gives us the confidence and knowledge to promote sustainability in a genuine and engaging way.” Post navigation Is it safe to travel to Indonesia?
