Azerbaijan Airlines resumes Baku-Astrakhan flights after summer holidays

Regular flights between Baku and Astrakhan will resume on September 30, 2026, which will ensure the resumption of direct air traffic between Azerbaijan and the Russian Caspian region.

As reported at Astrakhan International Airport, the service will be provided by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL).

The Baku-Astrakhan-Baku route will operate three times a week: on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The direct connection is expected to make travel between the two cities more convenient for passengers and strengthen ties between Azerbaijan and southern Russia.

AZAL will operate flights along the route using Embraer E-190 aircraft.

The flight between Baku and Astrakhan will take approximately 1 hour 25 minutes, providing a relatively short direct connection through the Caspian region.
