Reading time: 2 minutes Australia: TFE Hotels has announced a $100 million investment program to refurbish and reposition the first generation of Adina aparthotels in Australia and Europe. The program will include upgrades to apartments, public spaces and guest amenities as the operator develops the Adina brand in parallel with international development. TFE Hotels said it works with third-party hotel owners and also invests in properties it owns. The company did not specify how many Adina properties will be renovated or provide a completion date for the entire program. Anthony Ritch, CEO of TFE Hotels, said: “The Adina brand and experience is evolving as travelers increasingly seek hotels that can provide both a comfortable stay and full hotel service and amenities.” The investment follows renovations at Adina Darling Harbour, Adina Perth and Adina Town Hall in Sydney. The 114-key Adina Darling Harbor Hotel has reopened following a multi-million pound refurbishment by architecture and design firm Bates Smart. The project included updated design of apartments and public spaces, as well as the opening of Shoreline Kitchen. The design takes inspiration from the hotel’s waterfront location and uses materials, textures and colors reminiscent of Sydney Harbour. The renovation marks 26 years since the hotel opened ahead of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. In Europe, the Adina Frankfurt Neue Oper is undergoing a 12-month renovation program that began in January. The project will renovate 134 apartments and common areas using natural materials, including wood and stone. The hotel’s public spaces will be redesigned into a gallery space, featuring locally and Australian-made art and furniture made from recycled materials. Moritz Klein, head of TFE Hotels’ operations in Europe and the UK, said sustainability principles were implemented through the sourcing of materials and a focus on long-term design quality. Adina Budapest has also completed a nine-month renovation of 75 apartments in the main wing and public areas. The new interiors feature a color scheme of earth tones with olive and yellow accents. Further renovations are planned for all Adina Aparthotels in Australia, New Zealand, UK and Singapore. The investment program accompanies the brand’s development, which includes new properties in Brisbane and Hobart, as well as its first UK sites in Cambridge and Glasgow. TFE Hotels is also introducing new brand initiatives and introducing a digital guest experience platform across the Adina portfolio.
