Plane passenger who had to be duct taped to sit after crashing over N-word identified as Arizona realtor

A profanity-spewing plane passenger who was duct-taped and zip-tied to his seat after an alleged in-flight accident has been identified as an Arizona realtor.

Lane Arthur Lundeen, 67, of Tucson, caused American Airlines Flight 618, en route from Dallas to Newark, to land prematurely in Baltimore after his lewd stunt Thursday night, during which a bigot hurled the N-word at a flight attendant and hurled anti-gay slurs, according to police.

Lundin’s LinkedIn says he was a vice president at Long Realty in Tucson, but his profile has been removed from the site.

Traveler Juan Mejia, a former law enforcement officer on board, told ABC News that he and his friend Richard Olenick sprang into action when they heard Lundin, two rows behind them, become “belligerent” late in the flight.

“[The] “A gentleman sitting two rows behind us began to become aggressive, making derogatory remarks towards American Airlines employees and other passengers, racial slurs, vulgar language, very offensive to the women” sitting in the row behind Lundeen, Mejia said.

Olenick said Mejia “immediately stood up, jumped into the seat next to the passenger and began working to restrain him to keep the situation under control.”

Wild footage of the flight shows Lundeen appearing to be duct-taped to a chair like a Scooby-Doo villain, with his hands, head and torso bound.

American Airlines said in a statement to The Post that the flight was diverted to Baltimore “due to a disruptive customer.” When the plane landed in Baltimore, “law enforcement met the plane and assisted in disembarking the passenger before the flight continued to its destination.”

The FBI confirmed that Lundeen was arrested by Maryland Transportation Police.

He was charged statewide with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct, court records show.
“The FBI is currently conducting fact-finding interviews and will consult with the District of Maryland District Attorney’s Office to determine whether federal charges will be filed,” the bureau said.
