Air India and partner IHG expand loyalty rewards – TravelBiz Monitor: India Travel News, Travel Trends, Tourism


Air India and IHG Hotels & Resorts have announced a new partnership that brings together their respective loyalty programs Maharaja Club and IHG One Rewards, giving members greater flexibility in earning and redeeming points on air travel and hotel stays.

As part of the partnership, Maharaja Club members will be able to earn 2 Maharaja Points for every US dollar spent at most IHG hotels worldwide. Stay at Candlewood Suites, Staybridge Suites, IHG Residences and IHG Army Hotels and earn 1 Maharaja Point per USD spent.

IHG One Rewards members can also convert their points into Maharaja Points: 1,000 IHG ​​One Rewards points can be redeemed for 200 Maharaja Points. The minimum conversion threshold is 1,000 IHG ​​One Rewards points.

To celebrate the launch, Maharaja Club members can earn 3 Maharaja Points for eligible stays between September 15 and December 31, 2026, subject to registration, with no blackout dates during the promotional period.

The partnership brings together IHG’s portfolio of over 7,100 hotels in over 100 countries with Air India’s network spanning India and five continents, enhancing members’ ability to earn rewards beyond their airfare and hotel spend.

IHG currently operates 53 hotels across seven brands in India and plans to open 110 more hotels over the next three to five years. Meanwhile, Maharaja Club added more than 100 partner brands between FY2023 and FY2026, and members completed more than 4.2 million affiliate transactions during FY2026.
