American Airlines makes it easier to access TSA PreCheck contactless identification

American Airlines will integrate TSA PreCheck Touchless ID consent into online check-in starting in mid-August to reduce day-of-travel hassles for eligible passengers. This change moves the biometric screening consent step into the existing workflow, with passport details entered during online registration rather than on a separate profile page. TSA PreCheck Touchless ID matches a facial photo with stored records so verified travelers can use travel lanes without a physical ID or boarding pass. Participation remains voluntary and operates at more than sixty major airports. Consent is managed by each airline, expires after twelve months and is linked to your loyalty program account. United, Delta, Southwest, Alaska and Hawaiian also support check-in.
