I’ve stayed in the best hotels in the Dolomites – this is where I would really spend my money.

I’m a luxury travel journalist and content creator, and over the past two years I’ve spent several weeks in the Dolomites, staying in some of the region’s best luxury hotels. Here are my top picks for the best luxury hotels in the Dolomites for every type of traveler.

The Tower Suite is the only room you should consider because it has an outdoor bed that has a front row view of the Dolomites and is breathtaking. I have already booked this hotel for three clients who loved it.

If you love design and architecture, Hotel Hubertus is an architectural wonder of South Tyrol. It’s not technically in the Dolomites, but it does offer spectacular mountain views and also features an 82ft Sky Pool, which went viral after being featured on the BBC. And the newest architectural addition is the two-story Heaven and Hell building, which houses a steam room, sauna and other spa facilities.

For families with children or wine lovers, Chalet Mirabell offers three-bedroom villas with bunk beds, a children’s pool and activities such as alpaca walks. It’s also in Avelengo, making it a great base for exploring Alto Adige wine country.

There are plenty of castles and vineyards nearby, making it easy to spend a day exploring the region’s wine country. The Merano Wine Festival will also take place from 6 to 10 November 2026.

Active travelers will love the Alta Badia region. It’s great for beginner to intermediate skiing, and in summer is surrounded by endless hiking and biking trails. I would recommend the Marmolada Hotel right in the center of Corvara where there is a hidden fossil museum that is very cool.
