🚨 Special Live Update: For the first time, the Lachung → Donkia La → Lachen route is being used for tourist movement as an alternate diversion route, subject to permit approval, army clearance, and weather conditions, as the Taram Chu bridge area has experienced fresh heavy landslides, disrupting the regular Lachen

⚠️ Important Travel Note
- Lachung side is currently the safest route
- Lachen direct road remains blocked near Taram Chu Bridge
- Donkia La diversion is a special alternate tourist route now being used to reach Lachen from Chungthang via Lachung
- Gurudongmar should be planned only after local morning clearance
- Keep 1 buffer day in all North Sikkim itineraries
- Permits are mandatory and self-drive is not allowed
