Sandra Bullock Shocks With Surprising Confession About Teenage Daughter Leila: ‘What Do You Mean?’

Sandra Bullock was surprisingly candid about her children during the promotional show Practical Magic 2but her latest confession about her teenage daughter has left one daytime host perplexed.

Recently, a 62-year-old man appeared on Live with Kelly and Mark and admitted that 13-year-old Layla has an incredible gift for Formula One racing, a revelation that shocked host Kelly Ripa.

“My son is a basketball player, so everything is about basketball now,” she said of her 16-year-old son, Louis Bardot.

“So that’s what he’s focused on. And Lai, she’s also a basketball player, but she’s a race car driver,” she added.

“Sorry? What do you mean? She’s 13, right?” exclaimed a confused Kelly, 55, as Sandra nodded in agreement. “Where does she race?” Kelly added.

Sandra explained that Layla’s passion began early, when she was just four years old, when she would “take the training wheels” off her bike and walk down the stairs.

“And then I gave her an electric bike in the backyard,” she continued. “And then I found a way to put her in a race car on a private track, which would be a Porsche race car, similar to a 911. Mind you, she’s 13 years old, but she’s 12 at the moment.

“She’s so good that they came to me and said, ‘If you want to train her, she could be a Formula 1 driver,'” Sandra continued. “And I say, ‘What does this look like for mom, and what does it do for me?'”

Sandra said she was advised to “take [Laila] You leave school, you’re in Monte Carlo and you’re training.”

Kelly’s co-host and husband Mark Consuelos, 55, was also surprised by Layla’s gift and asked: “Right in the car, not in the go-kart?”

“Straight to the car,” Sandra replied. “It’s just in her DNA. So I said, “Okay, you had taste. Now let’s take you back a little.”

Although Sandra will encourage Leila’s Formula 1 aspirations when she grows up, for now she wants her to explore different hobbies.

Revealing that the teenager had “just started” getting into theater, Sandra said: “I’ve kind of stepped away from the race car. I thought, “Why don’t we try something new this summer?”

“So I sent her to theater camp, and she was not a theater kid. Not at all. But she had friends who were. And when she came home, she was a different child.”

Even though the camp was “a lot of fun,” Sandra revealed that Layla still doesn’t “want to be ahead” when it comes to performing.

Children come first

Sandra adopted Leila in 2015 when she was two years old, five years after she adopted her son when he was just over three months old.

Motherhood has completely changed Sandra’s approach to her career. Actress retired from acting after release Lost City in 2022 and made it clear that Louis and Leila’s lives now dictate what projects she takes on.

“If the kids can’t be with me, I won’t go,” she said. Interview. “The older they get, the busier their schedules become. And their schedules are more important than me telling the story, period.”
