Shailene Woodley’s friends were reportedly “disturbed” by Aaron Rodgers’ explosive comments about his split from the actress.

The 42-year-old NFL quarterback sensationally claimed that his ex-fiancée Woodley, 34, asked to “go f***” with another man before their wedding.

The Super Bowl champion proposed to Paradise star Woodley in December 2021, but their relationship ended just three months later. A year earlier, they went public with their romance.

During an appearance on the “Not Just Football” podcast on Thursday, Rodgers claimed the “Paradise” actress told him she needed to “go to hell” with another man before telling Rodgers she didn’t want to be with him anymore.

Now Woodley’s inner circle, who were reportedly “disturbed” by the Pittsburgh Steelers star’s disparaging remarks, have hit back, TMZ reports.

Friends of the Hollywood star reportedly believe Rodgers’ comments are “totally out of character”, claiming the married footballer hasn’t spoken to Woodley in over two years.

“We’re wondering why a married guy is bringing up an ex he hasn’t spoken to in over two years,” an insider told the publication.

They also claimed that Rogers knows Woodley is a private person and knows the actress would not appreciate him speaking publicly about their relationship.

The four-time MVP made strong statements about their split on his podcast this week.

“I proposed to Shailene and she accepted. Now she may have felt that she was forced to make a decision. She could have said no,” Rodgers told Pittsburgh Steelers teammate Cam Heyward.

“A couple days after that, she tells me, ‘Before we get married, I need to go fuck this guy,’ and I’m like, ’cause her story is, I ruined her life and made her incredibly depressed because I left her.

“But she actually told me that and then by March she took off the ring – I proposed in December – and we had a couple of times where we tried to get back together and it didn’t work out. In 2022, there wasn’t even a relationship that could be broken.

“She literally told me, ‘I don’t want to be with you’ after we tried to reconcile in 2021. There are a lot of stories that are not true.”

In 2024, Woodley called her breakup with Rogers a “traumatic event.”
