The Doppler line of compact umbrellas is designed with travel and limited retail space in mind. Doppler is rolling out a dedicated travel retail showcase with its zero collection of lightweight and compact umbrellas in airport and cruise stores across Europe. The umbrella and weather protection company designed a display specifically for travel retail, focusing on product visibility and the ability to display a relatively large number of umbrellas in a limited space. The concept also aims to help travelers identify product features and quickly make purchasing decisions. The display was developed based on the Doppler Zero Collection of lightweight compact umbrellas, one of the company’s key lines for travel retail. It showcases the collection’s color scheme and includes areas for icons and QR codes that provide product information to customers. Since last autumn, the displays have been installed on board 11 ships of the German cruise line AIDA Cruises, where they replaced previous presentation systems. The concept has also been installed at Munich Airport, the Welcome Shop at Vienna Airport and the Lagardère Travel Retail stores at Gdansk Airport. Two Gateleven stores are currently being activated at Francisco Sa Carneiro Airport in Porto and Lisbon Airport, with further locations in preparation. Doppler travel retail display at the Welcome Shop at Vienna Airport “Our goal was not only to showcase the wide range of colors in an attractive and premium way, but also to create a presentation that naturally helps customers make a quick purchasing decision,” says Renee Schwartz, International Sales Manager at Doppler. The display has an all-metal design due to fire safety requirements in travel retail and is currently only available in black. Initial prototypes were produced in white, but Doppler chose black for the final version because the color can be integrated into a wider range of retail concepts and store interiors. The travel retail version does not include modules for full-size umbrellas, as Doppler identifies compact umbrellas as the dominant category within the channel. Extensions for long umbrellas are available upon request for fixed retail outlets. In addition to the main floor display, Doppler offers a smaller tabletop Zero display with interchangeable Zero99 and ZeroSun inserts, allowing this format to be used in a variety of retail concepts and advertising spaces. Doppler developed the concept in collaboration with Blueprint and NHP Hanse Travel Retail. The partners worked together from the beginning of the development process to meet operational requirements, merchandising efficiency and visual presentation. “We approached the project with a crystal clear goal: to create an attractive solution that combines operational flexibility with powerful visual impact in limited retail space,” says Blueprint partner Thomas Kaneko Henningsen. “The collaboration between all partners involved was extremely customer-focused throughout the entire process. Every detail, from product presentation to customer communication, was tailored to the specific needs of airport, cruise ship and ferry customers.” Post navigation Interior Ministry cargo plane crash complicates Labor Day travel Air Canada Announces Largest-Ever Intercontinental Expansion in Summer 2027
