70 Tourism Leaders Earn Industry’s Highest Destination Management Certification

Seventy tourism professionals have earned the prestigious Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME) designation, the industry’s highest individual educational achievement, Destinations International announced. The graduates were recognized during the association’s 2026 Annual Convention in Portland, Oregon.

The CDME program is the only certification designed specifically for destination management professionals, equipping senior leaders with advanced expertise in strategic planning, leadership and business management. Destinations International President & CEO Don Welsh praised the recipients’ commitment to professional growth, while CDME Board Chair Kathleen Davis said the credential prepares leaders to strengthen their organizations, support their communities and help shape the future of the tourism industry.

Antigua and Barbuda Art Week Returns with New Public Art and Immersive Cultural Experiences

Antigua and Barbuda Art Week will return from November 11–18, 2026, with an expanded programme celebrating the destination’s vibrant creative community. Highlights include Dual Thresholds, a landmark public art installation featuring 28 artist-designed reclaimed wooden doors, a retrospective honouring acclaimed artist Maria Ross Iztueta, and a range of immersive experiences such as open studios, live art competitions, culinary events and cultural exhibitions. Organized by the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, the annual event aims to connect visitors with local artists and culture while showcasing the islands’ rich artistic heritage under the theme, “Every Destination Has a Story. Ours is Told in Colour.”

Jamaica Tourist Board Launches ‘Taste of Jamaica Experience’ Roadshow Across Southeast U.S.

The Jamaica Tourist Board has launched its “Taste of Jamaica Experience” roadshow, bringing destination updates, authentic cuisine and cultural performances to more than 500 travel advisors across six Southeast U.S. cities from July 21–30, 2026. The multi-city initiative will stop in Raleigh, Charlotte, Atlanta, Tampa, Orlando and Miami, giving advisors the latest tourism insights while celebrating Jamaica’s vibrant heritage through food, music and live entertainment. The roadshow will also recognize the Jamaica Travel Specialist Top 50 Alumni Travel Advisors, reinforcing the board’s commitment to strengthening trade partnerships and inspiring future bookings to the Caribbean destination.
