Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s US neighborhood introduces new security measures to ‘protect’ residents

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex currently reside in the UK with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. However, the family also decided to maintain their base in the United States – a sprawling Montecito mansion. In the United States, their area has undergone big changes: new security measures have been adopted.

Unfortunately, Montecito is susceptible to severe weather conditions, including wildfires, and to prevent this problem, the Montecito Fire Department and the Montecito Water District have teamed up to add two new temporary firefighter housing units to be used during periods of increased fire danger.

Montecito Fire Chief Brian Fallon said, “By proactively positioning firefighters in these two locations on the far ends of our area, we can significantly reduce the time it takes to arrive on the scene of a vegetation fire in remote wild areas where our fire risk is highest.”

“We are pleased to partner on these important initiatives to improve protection for residents,” added Montecito Water District CEO Nick Turner.

Another problem in the area is landslides, which have forced residents to evacuate in the past. Experts are concerned that more flooding could occur once the summer season ends and the rains return. The concern is centered around San Ysidro Creek, which is very close to Harry and Meghan’s gated community.

Terry Cunningham is a millionaire businessman who built Harry and Meghan’s home, Riven Rock Castle. It took him four years to carefully build it, but he has since admitted that he didn’t even take weather threats into account.

Terry told Mail on Sunday: “We sure as hell didn’t think about it. [the mudslides] when we were building, but of course I would think about it now.”

Where do Prince Harry and Meghan Markle live in the UK?

The royal couple have remained tight-lipped about their exact location since the shock move, but the Cotswolds is a popular destination, likely due to its quieter environment, idyllic scenery and wide access to good education.

The Cotswolds are supposed to be where the Sussexes live.

“They have a lot of friends in the area,” a source told HELLO! previously. “Meghan is close to Ellen DeGeneres, who lives there with her wife Portia de Rossi, as is Simon Cowell, who is friends with Prince Harry.”

In addition to the rumors circulating, Meghan Markle was spotted at a farm in Soho in the Cotswolds, according to Daily Beast editor-in-chief Tom Sykes and reports in The Guardian. Is this the strongest suggestion that the family have found a green base in the Cotswolds? Perhaps so.
