Turkish Airlines quality assurance staff report completing a two-day inspection of the HAVELSAN campus in September 2026.

Turkic – Turkish Airlines Captain and Quality Assurance Auditor Ugur Demiroz reported the completion of a two-day inspection at the HAVELSAN campus in Ankara on September 2-3, 2026. This activity relates to the expansion of the HAVELSAN simulator fleet and wider flight training infrastructure.

• The inspection was carried out on September 2-3 and, according to Demirez, was successfully completed.
• Turkish Airlines and HAVELSAN already operate the Turkish Airlines training center at HAVELSAN’s premises in Ankara. The center was established in 2023 following the qualification of Boeing 737 MAX simulators built by HAVELSAN, with the facility also housing the Boeing 737NG full flight simulator.
• The review comes less than two months after Turkish Airlines agreed to purchase 12 more HAVELSAN simulators, including eight full flight simulators and four flight training devices. The airline said the equipment will be used in new simulator hangars, the first of which are scheduled to be operational in 2027, as well as a new Flight Training Center scheduled for completion in 2028.
• Demirez had previously visited the same HAVELSAN campus on behalf of the Quality Assurance Directorate of Turkish Airlines at the VI National FSTD Seminar on February 4-5, 2025. HAVELSAN said the event brought together approximately 150 participants representing more than 50 airlines, simulator training centers and simulator manufacturers, with discussions covering regulatory changes, FSTD operations and training infrastructure.
• AFM previously reported that Turkish Airlines’ Quality Assurance Directorate ended its traditional Flyout simulator quality control methodology in June 2026, moving to a revised organizational structure and simulator oversight model aligned with updated EASA requirements.
• The training infrastructure created by Turkish Airlines’ HAVELSAN includes Airbus A320, Boeing 737 MAX and Boeing 737NG full flight simulators. In July 2026, HAVELSAN said six of its EASA Level D devices were then in service with Turkish Airlines – three A320neo/CEO FFS, two 737 MAX FFS and one 737NG FFS – and another 737 MAX simulator had achieved EASA certification.
