Bruno Guimaraes has returned to training ahead of Arsenal’s Champions League clash with Napoli this week.

With three wins in their first three matches of the new Premier League season, the Gunners begin their Champions League campaign away to Napoli on Wednesday.

Guimaraes, a £75m summer signing from Newcastle United, is yet to start for his new club, having been named on the bench against Chelsea at the weekend.

The 28-year-old did not travel to north London that day but hopes to play a role away at Naples this week.

Jurrien Timber is also stepping up his comeback by training alongside his teammates at London Colney today.

The Netherlands international has been sidelined since March due to a groin injury that required surgery in the summer. Arteta described his defender as being in “really good form” and hoped he would be back in action very soon.

Arsenal will be without Christian Mosquera, who missed the win over Chelsea due to a muscle injury.
