Sardinia and Liguria: Discover Airlines expands route network to Italy in summer 2027

• Only direct routes from Munich to Alghero and from Frankfurt to Genoa.
• The Italian network is expanding to four destinations: Alghero, Bari, Brindisi and Genoa.
• Up to ten flights per week in the summer 2027 schedule.

Following the announcement of new destinations in Northern Europe and the UK, Discover Airlines is also expanding its offer in Italy for summer 2027, with the airline adding flights from Munich to Alghero and Frankfurt to Genoa to its schedule for the first time.

These two new routes are the only direct flights from two German airports and complement the airline’s existing network in Italy from Frankfurt to Bari and Brindisi. At the same time, the frequency of flights to Brindisi will increase from next year, increasing the airline’s program in Italy to ten flights per week to four destinations. Airbus A320 aircraft will fly on all routes.

With Alghero, Discover Airlines is expanding the Lufthansa Group’s portfolio in Sardinia from Munich – along with Olbia and Cagliari – adding a new connection that will give travelers direct access to the north-western part of the island. Flights will begin in June 2027 and will operate twice a week, every Monday and Friday.

Starting from the end of March 2027, the travel airline will also connect Genoa and Frankfurt twice a week, every Saturday and Sunday. The Ligurian port city is considered an ideal starting point for exploring the Cinque Terre and Portofino. The route is also part of a strategic partnership with Costa Cruises, which will take a fixed share of the berths offered to cruise passengers.
